Advanced SWAT

Course Description and Equipment List:

This course will not be a walk in the park.  Show up expecting to train hard.  You will not be done at 5pm everyday.  You will come away from this course with an advanced SWAT certificate.

No live ammo needed.  Bring your tac gear, 100 Simunition rounds, and appropriate safety gear, bring Sim guns if you have them, but if not MLEA has graciously agreed to let us use theirs.
(You will need your weapons and live ammo for the competition on Thursday.)

Instructor Bio:  Sgt. Jeff Selleg

Port of Seattle Police

Training Supervisor/SWAT Team Leader


Sergeant Jeff Selleg has worked in Law Enforcement for 16 years and has been a member of Valley Regional SWAT since October of 2000.  He has served in the capacity of entry team member, sniper, sniper team leader, and is currently one of the entry team leaders.  He holds professional certifications as a HazMat technician  and Explosive Breacher along with being a certified instructor in many of the disciplines associated with tactical operations.  During this time he has responded to numerous emergency calls and planned operations. He has held the rank of Sergeant at the Port of Seattle Police Department since 2005 and held the assignment of a Patrol Sergeant and currently supervised the agencies training unit.

 Jeff has been a member of the WSTOA board of directors since 2007 and currently serves as the Director of Training.  He has instructed hundreds of officers in his role as a Basic and Advanced SWAT instructor as well as the Valley SWAT regional Active Shooter Program.  Jeff current serves as an advisor to the National Institute of Justice – Tactical Technology Working group for the Department of Justice as well as a committee member to the National Tactical Officer Association’s – National SWAT Standards Review Committee.   Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree  in Accounting from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey Washington and a Master’s of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University in Orange California.

Instructor Bio:  Sgt. Wayne DuBois

Richland Police Department

Sergeant Wayne DuBois has worked in Law Enforcement for 14 years and has been a member of Tri-City Regional SWAT since January of 1998.  He has served in the capacity of entry team member, entry element leader, training coordinator, and is currently the team supervisor.  He holds instructor certifications in Subgun/Rifle, Chemical Agent/NFDD/Impact Munitions, Close Quarters Countermeasures, and Breaching, in addition to being certified as a “Specialized Instructor” through WSCJTC.  During this time he has planned, participated in, and supervised numerous tactical operations. He has held the rank of Sergeant at the Richland Police Department since 2010, where he supervises a patrol squad. 
Wayne has been a member of the WSTOA in varying capacities since 2002.  He served as the district 4 Representative from 2002 until 2004, the Secretary / Treasurer from 2006 until 2009, then the Director of Operations from 2009 to present.  Wayne has also been a part of the WSTOA instructor cadre since 2003, where he has instructed hundreds of officers in his role as a Basic and Advanced SWAT instructor.  Wayne has also authored two articles that appeared in the National Tactical Officer Association’s quarterly publication, “The Tactical Edge.”

 Wayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and Religion from Liberty University
