Tactical Carbine/Pistol

Course Description & Equipment List:

This is not a beginner's course!  This will be a very dynamic course of instruction.  The quotes have ranged from things like you will only stand still long enough to zero your rifle so you don't have an excuse later, to you will leave with a bloody trigger finger and sweat stained armor.

Max ammo needed will be 1000 Rifle and 500 Pistol although you will likely use less than this.

TEG intends to deliver a 3 1/2-day tactical close quarter combat style weapons Carbine and Pistol course of fire. The proposed course of fire is crafted to attend to the individual shooter skills. The goal is to measure the end-state level of competency against an agreed upon standard. Simply put, make the shooter better.

The TEG Process for a 3 1/2-day course of fire is aggressive provided an average officer skill level is present.

The TEG personnel are experts at teaching. For instance, TEG believes operators do not have a week hand rather a support hand. Our staff has unique ways of helping operators understand body position, ballistics, positional shooting and driving the gun faster. TEG teaches using ‘80/20 rule’. 80% of the time the operator is performing inside his comfort zone: 20% of the time the operator trains outside the comfort zone which translates to faster gun movements, faster split times, quicker target acquisitions etc…Positional, dynamic shooting makes flat range shooting functional. Stress, time and competing are all tools used by TEG to make the events fun and motivational for operators. An aggressive plan is in place to provide operators with ‘timed’ events in order to track progress.

TEG uses its “Milo Range Classic” simulations trainer. This allows for each student to get analytical feedback for both weapons in a cost effective, logistically sound manner. The simulation takes place in a classroom environment and is typically a One-on-One event using the operators primary/secondary weapon systems. The simulator is a computer bases High Definition video, which uses a laser and other analytic tools to score the operators performance. The goal is to fix operator fighting stances, weapons site picture and hand-to-gun manipulation etc…. The analytical feedback in priceless.

The goal of this training is to make better shooters, explain the “why” of certain concepts and teach the ‘operator to teach’ these learned Tactics, Techniques and Procedures to other teammates through course ware hand-outs which spells out specific drills and prep work. TEG intends to run a dynamic range were operators are using barricades, steel and/or paper targets, possibly stationary vehicle shooting to move their guns and eyes in the direction of the threat while the body is moving independently.
