The conference is fast approaching and is
looking good. We have over a hundred attendees signed up.
I just wanted to send out a last minute reminder email / update.
Attached you will find a conference schedule (disclaimer: subject to minor
changes during the week)
Please share/forward this info to any of your teammates who may not have
received this.
Important points:
1. Conference starts @ 1300 on Monday April 30. Registration is 0900 to 1300.
Conference ends after the banquet on Thursday night. Friday is a travel day.
2. Please bring your assigned long gun (if you carry one) and handgun
regardless of the training tract that you're attending. You will need these for
the firearms portion of the Thursday (friendly) team competition. Bring your
running shoes if you want to compete in the optional individual obstacle course
event on Monday afternoon. (Attendance will be mandatory but competing in that
event will not be)
3. You will need no more than 50 rounds long gun/subgun and no more than 50
rounds handgun for the Thursday competition.
4. If you are in the Active Shooter or High Risk Warrant tract and carry an
AR-15 type rifle please bring it as we will have UTM bolts and training ammo
that are designed to work in them in force on force training.
5. Ammo and equipment needed for specific tracts are listed on our website but
it is a good idea to bring just about all your tactical gear. If you are in
High Risk Warrant or Active Shooter and you have your own Simuniton / FX Marking
cartridge capable handgun or long gun bring it. We will be providing 9mm
Simunition FX ammunition so if you have a gun that works with that ammo and you
want to train with it then bring it.
6. If your first choice was High Risk Warrant Service and you signed up after
late March please bring ammo/equipment for your second choice as that tract
filled in March. (I believe email notices were sent to the folks who registered
after it filled) We will do everything we can to accommodate your 1st choice.
Given recent events, if anyone wants to switch to active shooter, there is
still a little room in that tract. Email me or Dave Merifield if you want to
change tracts.
7. Like last year, the chow hall will be available for us for breakfast and
lunch with the meals costing you about $4. We will have some snacks (pizza,
wings, etc.) at the after hours events but shouldn't count as provided meals in
your per diem requests. The banquet will be $14 per person and will be a top
notch meal. MSTOA will cover the gratuity for the caterer.
8. We have a number of law enforcement tactical vendors coming with goods
available for sale so bring your $.
9. We will also be raffling off a ton of cool stuff including at least two
firearms with one from FN USA and one from Smith & Wesson so bring some money to
buy raffle tickets.
10. Check the site for answers to any other questions.
11. Call or email me with questions or problems
12. Check out
www.thewallbanger.com <http://www.thewallbanger.com>
for a new distraction device breaching product. Sandy Wall, who is in the
video on that website, will be instructing High Risk Warrant at this year's
conference and will be available to talk about the product. It's a pretty cool
device, check it out.
13. Buy products from Armor Holdings! They are significantly contributing
instructors, time, and product to this year's conference. BIG THANK YOU in
advance to Armor Holdings - Defense Technologies.
14. Big Shout Out to the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association who are
providing two instructors; Tim Williams and Shannon Couch (who is the TTPOA
President).
15. We are also receiving additional support from Department of Homeland
Security, Department of Energy, and other entities too numerous to mention. Not
to snub anyone, but to get the info out, I'll end it there.
Come ready train, ready to learn, and of course, ready to have a good time.
See you in Helena on April 30.
